We have a stance in my part of London, and chances are it's all over London,we aint going to stop striking till the deal is done and a good deal at that.
If national stop and we aint happy then we will keep our ballot going.

HQ know this as well!

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

As much as I dont like the delay in the ballot timescale this was not the CWUs choice. The decison on the date when the ballot closes was the Independent scurtineers call and the union would be at risk for legal challenge if it ingnore the independent scurtineers recommendation and bearing in mind they have to sign off the ballot results and declare if it was conducted in line with they recommendation thens the CWU had no choice.

There choice to delay the ballot clousure by 8 days was due to the backlog which exists and the further strikes which are planned. She said for the union to be free from such a challenge then that is the timescale which was reasonable.

I think we all know Royal Mail will attempt to challenge the ballot but if the union decided to go against the independent scrutineers recommendation she may not sign of the ballot process as being fair and reasonable in which case the ballot result would be worthless.

Now if we are talking about the fact that we should have been balloted sooner then I would agree that the 3 month delay in balloting the membership sent out the wrong message to members and allowed Royal Mail to attack certain areas in the belief the CWU couldt produce a yes vote nationally. The phone polls suggust we will do but there is still a sizable chunk who need to be convinced and that is where reps must hold meetings with members. The bigger the yes vote the better chances of a deal.

Postman, what is it like in London?
Where is the backlog of mail sitting and how much?
My rep up here reckons its near 90 million around the country!

I , like many, have sympathy with the lads and lasses who have lost god knows how much money dan sowf, and only a concerted campaign of national action will bring about victory for us.

I just hope the 2 at the top of the cwu dont give out the call to abandon any further action while talks are "ongoing".

Seen it all to often, as said previous, this dispute will make or break Hayes and Ward .

The LTB in the week said suspend rather than cancel, but given the way RML work the choice should be entirely that of each indivdual location and not Billy and Dave.

If any location or region wants to keep going untill a decent deal is done then Billy and Dave should support them.

Our MC is full to the brim, and the last 2 days we have had an extra coach come in,they must be trying to get rid of it all.
At my place for the last 2 days we have not touched the last coach or packets, there are yorks of mech waiting to be tipped.
All around London it's the same and has been for a while.
We're in a mess, and as our MC is doing little outward, there's much more for the rest of the country to be sent out yet.
