Re: Managers Prepping
We've tried stopping it in our office, without any luck, we've had more lapsing shoved on us this week as well. This is why we NEED NATIONAL AGREEMENTS, this will be the only way to stop this kind of thing.

Pinky1 i think you`ll find that full time staff have to prep 22.5 hour duties so if a manager does that then obvoiusly they leave early, so that is why there is no big fuss about it, also if full time staff had to do all the prep of part time duties before they started thier own duties then you would find a lot more moaning and groaning, but as long as they are getting out the door early enough they will ignore the manager prep

Re: Managers Prepping
Lowest contract we have at my gaff is 30 hours - we have never and probably will never accept less - but we are militant according to the rest of the area.

Re: Managers Prepping
The other way around in our office ,most full timers are bagged up ready or gone before the part timers even arrive . and we all have the same finishing timestupidboy wrote:happens everyday in our office as well.
with regards to the other point part timers are out starting their deliveries long before us full timers

RE: 30 hour contracts - What work are your Postmen and Women expected to do?
I'm 30 hours I have to fully prep 7am-9am and then deliver however 25 hour contracts walks are usually ready. Seems a bit unfair to me!

Ours are split 20 hours for delivery only and 28 hours for PT prep and delivery.cookie wrote:RE: 30 hour contracts - What work are your Postmen and Women expected to do?

Just that in our office when the manager preps the walk, the guy that should be doing it is on the ips, so he doesn't get out any earlier.
Seems that all offices have different ways of massaging the figures ......

Re: Managers Prepping
We are totally against managers doing posties work in our office,we even have non union members chastising them if they spot
anything untoward going on
As far as we are concerned if they have got time to throw walks off, they can't have enough work of their own to do.
Strange how senior management haven't highlighted this anomalie as a way to save money. How about cutting their hours, just a thought.
