Anyone who doesn't follow the company line would find themselves out, all management want are yes men not people who can actually lead us into the future.

Like several other people on this site, I think I've burned too many bridges to ever make it into management (at least within RM) plus, I could never look at myself in a mirror again if I did move to the darkside
It depends on how strong you are. There are a small number of people, who manage to stand up to the pressure, and do the right thing, as a Manager. They're incredibly rare. But they do exist. You never know, you might be able to pull it off. :hmmmm Personally, I won't do it, because I don't think I'd be able to cope with that much pressure to "tow the line".
I am not going to say a word - no I am not - well OK :left: :left:

I would never ever become a manager, I am a honest person and if a manager told me to do something that was not right, I would tell them where to stick it and I would never cover-up for another manager that has done something wrong, therefore, I would not last long as a manager.

It does, if they're strong enough to stand up to the pressure from above. I'm lucky enough to have one, so I know it can be done. But the trouble they get for doing what's right for their Staff, and Section, can be emense. A lot, either go back to being Posties, or crack under the pressure, and behave like those they wanted to replace.
