Yes, but I wouldn't recomend it unless you genuinely are stressed. As you will be put on medication, which although usually effective for the teatment of stress and/or depression. Can have unfortunate effects, if there's nothing wrong with you.

If a "normal" person had taken the pills I used to be on. They'd be stoned! Yet, all they did for me, was correct the chemical imbalance, and helped me to think celarly enough to sort myself out.

Also how long can you get away with that for without the bosses gettin on ur back .
2 Days in my case. Then it was a MINIMUM of 2 calls per week. Not ideal when you're in the state I was!

Not for me BTW for my friends waiting in the aisles about to leap on me .

Theres a bloke in our place doin it and hes getting away with murder ........... you see him walkin about most days with the top off walking his dog or coming out the pub :left:
As several other people have already pointed out: He'll have been encouraged to do so by ATOS, his GP, and Shrink (if he's seeing one). It's the best way to break out of the cycle of stress and/or depression. Give the poor guy a break!

Sad in a way, but feel like a huge weight lifted off my shoulders, turned all the phones off today so i can start to plan for the future, will definately look in here regularly, and want to extend my good will and best wishes to everyone still fighting.

Avanti
You have obviously been thinking about this for a while, and so this might be the best solution for you.
But when one is stressed/anxious/depressed you might make a hasty decision, which seems like a good
idea and a 'quick fix' at the time, but causes even more problems in the long term.
Jobs are not easy to find at the moment, and if you voluntarily leave your job you will not be eligible
for Jobseekers Allowance for six months, as I understand it, though you might qualify for supplementary
benefit, depending on your circumstances.
If you have not put your resignation in writing yet, I would think about seeing your GP, and getting signed off
sick for a while. If you are prescribed medication you do not have to take it but you should if you need it.
But it will give you a bit of time and space to think about things a bit more.
Best wishes to you in whatever you decide to do.

I wasn't accusing you of being nasty to the bloke. It was the fact that seemed to be accusing him of "swinging the lead", because he was out and about so much. I didn't mean to cause any offence.
