Have you had training as a manager has a legal responsibility to train you before letting you use a HCT and a risk assement and terrain assesment needs to be done first

I was pissed off, had blisters on my feet after a long time on the Vans so not used to walking, now this.
left the office details with the owner and limped back to the office, will expecting lots of ribbing tommrrow at the office and a bollocking
Im going to use a Golf Trolley in future, less chance of a roll down.

a s**t second week back on delivery, come into a heavy week last week and trying to do the job properly and getting flak now this.

Been told I might be looking at a Blameworthy decison, it may be treated like a road traffic accident as if I am a driver.

I'm not sure. But that could be for the purposes of the Car owner's claim against RM. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will be able to tell us if I'm right or not.

If I'm wrong. Then it would be unneccesarily harsh, to class it as a blameworthy accident. At least, in my opinion, anyway. If I'm right, about it being for the purposes of the claim. Then I wouldn't worry about it too much, as it should be a formality.

Don't sign it then and say you were provided with substandard equipment and were not trained in the proper and correct use of said equipment! :dance :Very Happy

You should have had proper training. I was shown how to load the trolley with the weight nearest to you etc, told the handling capicity and shown the brakes, oh and i was supplied with a booklet/user guide. If you had none of that then you have not been trained :nana . Oh and the brakes are rubbish

When and if there is a fact finding ask the manager if you can see the HCT Life History Log, this is an official RM document and should like an RM Cycle History log detail the last time the trolley was checked/serviced, any problems encountered and any work carried out and by whom - I sincerely doubt that there is a log and I also doubt that the trolley has ever been checked. It is supposed to be carried out by the cycle mechanic on a rolling basis but, even though I am a cycle mechanic, I have no idea what the service schedule is supposed to be. I would imagine that it is annually - however your HS Rep should know or can get to know pretty quickly.

Thats a really intresting point  I used my HC trolley for just over 3 years and it was never looked at or checked once by a mechanic. When one of the plastic brake catch clips wore out and failed i reported it to a manager and was simply told " well the other sides working, use that" :arrrghhh

had an informal chat with the Manager was told to be careful next time and sent me off on my way.

I was stunned to be honest, I was expecting to dragged over the coals, verbal bollocking and given a blameworthy accident on my record, seems this new manager we've got, had a lot of common sense, unlike the last one.

I am quite relieved really and a lesson learnt, avoid HCT if I can, coming off comments here about how reliable they are etc and just use a Golf Trolley instead.

Either that or your new manager may whilst not contributing, nonetheless is a regular visitor to RMC. Either way a RESULT and much to your relief has been a lesson well learnt.
