:nana The funniest thing I found on a doorstep? i used to deliver to blocks of flats, and from monday to Friday, there was an old mattress propped up against the wall. Every Saturday morning. I would get to the door, and stretched out on the
mattress was a sleeping drunk. He was always immaculately dresses, but stinking of booze! I imagine he was the Man of the house and wasn't allowed in after a bender!Won't go on about some of the horrible things I've found.!

Then you see him parked under a bridge, hiding so he wont have to phase 3 anything. While i'm slogging my cuts out. :no no Ask him to take something that I cannot get in my bag, like a fridge, and he throws a wobbly. f***ing disgrace!!!!!! :evil/mad

Shop him via a "Concerned member of the Public" route :shhhhh the driver looks ill and parks there a lot etc

One of our driver was caught sleeping in the back of his Van, a member of the Public thought it was stolen and abandoned :left:

just two weeks ago i came across around 20 nappies strewn across the doorstep and path. It was a disgusting site for sure as most were displaying their contents! Funny thing is there's no baby in the house just an old couple. Thank god i wasn't eating my sandwiches at the time :Sick. Made the delivery but wont next time - yeuch! Almost as memorable as the special delivery parcel i found jamned behind a communal door which was always left ajar and is on a busy street. :d'oh!

Fell over a dead badger once, it was still there a week later and boy it stunk.
TBT, you're not my postman are you? You've described my street on a Monday morning, except for the caravan of course. We have standards.

He wouldn't have found it so easy if he had done it properly! I think every office has these characters, managers pets, carving the job up and dragging our reputation down. Could well be destined for higher management.

It just makes me wonder what possesses some one to leave stuff like this on the step where anyone could turn up and see it - even if it's put there just for a short time, it seems odd to me!!

Just wondered what things other posties come across on the doorstep?

I thought that nappies had to be collected seperately :hmmmm which would explain the piles of nappies you seem to find at peoples doors.

About ten years ago I was delivering to a newish estate which had unfortunately been built next to a stream which had burst it's banks and caused minor damage to a few houses. So the residents were given sandbags to help ease any damage. They were all over the place and quite awkward to walk over to get to some doors.

Further along the walk, and away from said houses I was delivering later in the week, it was early and darkish (remember when we used to go out early?) and I saw some more sandbags up against a door, but oddly they were nowhere near the stream and I thought it strange. For some weird reason I decided to give them a gentle to firm kick before I delivered the letters and much to my surprise they weren't sandbags but some bloke asleep on his doorstep in a sleeping bag. He said he'd been out drinking and got in late so his missus chucked the sleeping bag out for him and bolted the doors.

And I woke him up by kicking him
