Fill the form in, send it off to Rugby, with the statements from your colleagues and keep copies of everything for your own records.
basically call RM's bluff or even double bluff them if necessary , At the end of the day , Rugby is RM , and people do exactly what they are told or there will be dire consequences if they don't .
Have stuff for a rainy day , stuff that RM will be banking on you not having .

Lenny honeyball wrote:Wolfie, I did put in a B AND H complaint against this manager straight after, but was told by the B AND H people that I am unable to do this if a conduct code complaint iscurrently pending against me, I am however, allowed to put in a greviance complaint. (which i will)

This I dont understand, why shouldnt I be able to put in a B AND H complaint against this manager? Must be conflict of intrests or some other BS!!
Further to my own case, which is different to yours (i'm serving my notice for dismissal - "poor attendance"), I submitted a complaint about my D.O.M. on a H1 form. A lot of what he'd been doing was bullying and harassment, yet I received a letter back from Rugby, advising me that I should put in a grievance, as it wasn't B&H. :arrrghhh

I then approached my second line manager, who said that i'd have to send the grievance to the D.O.M.'s manager.
Only thing is, this is the person that sacked me after handling my Stage 3 interview!!

The manager then said "well you could still go higher, but sideways in the chain."

Right, that'll be another senior manager who used to work at our place and didn't get on well with the staff :Very Happy

These people are unbelievable - talk about safety in numbers!

i know this is a bit wild in thinking but why not go for crozier?
he has created a culture of fear and intimidation. theiresponce will be that he inherited it so yours could be he's had 5-10 yers knowing what he has inherited and done nothing to change it. stuff like DRAW and the B and H bits have been encouraged or knowingly allowed to wither and die by a total lack of encouragement and nurturing from the top down. To be fair it's only at grass roots level that there is any hope placed upon these projects to make a real difference in the workplace. The reality is thought that management only get any real percentage wise joy from it, i mean sucessful complaints per complaint made ratio.

I agree that it's Crozier that is running RM , but that 80's macho management ; fear , uncertainty and doubt style comes from Leighton , Leighton will use it as it's been " successful " before .
It's also a recipe for bullying and harassment as you're effectively turning places into neurotic hothouses with lots of mistrust and paranoia .

The other thing that has happened is that you've a mix of the old PO " Command & Control " and the 70's supermarket " Command & Control `" that Leighton borrowed from Archie Norman . What I'm driving at is that you always get the worst of both cultures as RM is neither one thing or the other and of course things will be handled badly and taken to literal extremes .

The Regimentation is classic Walmart so I would not buy that " we inherited it " argument . The bonus system causes a lot of antagonism too , it may work in sales but they are not running hypermarkets or selling double glazing .

The other problem I've with :lfo playing the nice cop is the lack of control he has in one sense over his Senior / Area Managers , that backfired in 2003 , some staff didn't necessarily
want to go on strike but they certainly didn't trust the management . The Voice would be filled with horror stories and dodgy fit ups and they all seemed to have the same ring to them .
What I'd suspect will happen is that RM 's Board & Senior Management will pass the buck to the Government saying they were only put in to do New Labour public sector " reforms " with a lot of stick but no carrot and soften up/ knock the stuffing out of people for privatization / fragmentization
