It depends on how much you drank the night before. If I've only had 2 or 3 doubles (or pints), I don;t drive until the following afternoon. If I've had any more than that, I don't drive AT ALL, the next day. And one thing I NEVER DO, is drink ANY alcohol, if I'm going to drive the same day. Not even Shandy.

Just because you're below the Legal Limit. It doesn't mean that you're safe driving. Even a small amount of alcohol slows your reactions, no matter how well you can hold your drink. We're only talking fractions of a second here. But it can be enough to cause an accident, particularly if you're on a fast road. :hmmmm

And I wouldn't take that 2 Pint Limit, too seriously either. A friend of mine, lost his license after drinking only 1 Pint, before driving. It all depends on your size, and Metabolic Rate. It just isn't worth it! :hmmmm

He certainly kept his job though obviously the management were not exactly highly delighted they just put him on to walking rounds.
As i understand he has to go on a Royal Mail course before he is allowed to drive Royal Mail vans again.
We have an ex Parcel Force driver who has just joined us and he lost his licence whilst working for Parcel Force and they also put him on a course before he drove again.

As an aside ,as a condition of getting his licence back in ten months rather than have it withdrawn for a year he had to attend a drivers awareness course for rehabilitating drink drivers and he reckons that all new drivers should go on the course before they are allowed to drive as he learned a lot about alcohol and the length of time it takes to work through your system .
But why do you have to get banned and attend a course in order to learn a lot about alcohol and the length of time it takes to work through the system ?
Surely this information should be widely available given that half the adult population drinks alcohol each evening and most of them drive the next morning.

It's because, a lot of thm don't pay any attention to the information given. If on the other hand, they do a course. Then presumably there will be some kind of test or exam at the end, to make sure thet they have listened to, and understood, the facts.
