I don't think that's the right question Andy. Why do you assume any compensation is "necessary"?andy2007 wrote:That's true BELIAL, but at what cost to the Country?
The Government has borrowed a ludicrous amount of money, because they were scared that if the Banks went under. The whole Economy would collapse, and Britain would be bankrupt. Personally, I think that's a load of crap. But I'm not in charge, am I?
But where is the money going to come from, to pay back those huge loans?
They claim it will come from the Banks. But will the Banks really pay the interest too?
Will they pay it back quickly?
Or more likley, will we end up with large Tax increases, and cuts in funding for Public Services?
So I ask again: Do you really think that the Country can afford to pay the neccessary compensation, to our fake competitors?![]()
I do agree that our whole system of economic organization is a shambolic charade. Our wonderful free market economy is in tatters and the bad news is, it hasn't even begun yet. What we've seen so far is the tip of the iceberg, the banks themselves have no way of quantifying what their true losses are. Even if the banks repay these public loans with interest, where do you think their profit to do so comes from?
One guess, what is a bank and where does it get money?
The govt. will increase taxes, they will slash services ,they will attack pensions and wages ,and banks will extract more profit from your reduced deposits and make more interest on any loans you need, and all the time they will keep the presses running and churn out more £'s and your £300pw. will be only worth £200pw. in twelve months time.
And the good news is ,that in twenty years time when you have just finished paying for this fatcats junket, the same thing will happen all over again and all the worried experts will be very surprised
