Let's say it was Christmas Day instead of Boxing Day. Would we be in on the 25th? Almost certainly not. But in on the 26th... maybe. Why the difference? Is there a Bank Holiday tiering system no-one has ever written down? January 2nd in Scotland has at least once in my time on the job been a working day, so that would appear to the lowest ranked Bank Holiday.

Not a clue, had a quick Google and it says your employer can make you work any Bank Holiday including Christmas Day if your contract allows it.

Who the hell knows what's in our contract these days
