The difference is built into when they are dispatched from the outward MC to the inward MC. T24 and 1C is dispatched the same day it arrives at the outward MC, T48 and 2C is dispatched the next day. Chances are that big firms have some sort of automated system in place to check that all the T24 and T48 items they dispatch are delivered on time, they'll be claiming for any that aren't.kazardaimenu wrote: ↑19 Mar 2026, 16:46Way more packets are coming in tracked now. Used to be a dozen or two a side now it’s around 80. If they are serious about clearing tracked and first class on alternate days they’ll have to start prioritising t24s as there are too many tracked 48s in the pipe.
For the dispatch of Tracked that's either flats or letters, they are now starting to be dispatched in trays, with purple tray labels. There's that many Tracked letters and flats coming through now.
Last time we had to many I said to the manager "why should we scan them as ready for delivery when we know we won't end up delivering them, as the customer might wait in all day for them them at 3:30pm get a message saying delivery not attempted." He just said he's been told that's how we have to do it.

Re: Everything is Tracked
The SMAH(?) soap packets are now starting to come through as Tracked packets, that probably just leaves the dog/cat flea packets as the only regular packets which aren't Tracked plus the odd 1st and 2nd class packet a customer has been brave enough (or should that be daft enough?) to send non Tracked. It's hardly worth sorting them out now between Tracked and non Tracked as you may as well just deliver every packet you receive.

Won't be long before anything that's not from abroad or stamped will be Tracked.TopperGas wrote: ↑20 Mar 2026, 16:18The SMAH(?) soap packets are now starting to come through as Tracked packets, that probably just leaves the dog/cat flea packets as the only regular packets which aren't Tracked plus the odd 1st and 2nd class packet a customer has been brave enough (or should that be daft enough?) to send non Tracked. And the NHS letters 1½th Class. And the First Class the new 2nd Class. Everything else Mailsort.
Any Questions?
Yeah, how do I get out of this chickenshit outfit?

Foreign items via the locker already count as Tracked anyway.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑20 Mar 2026, 16:19Won't be long before anything that's not from abroad or stamped will be Tracked.TopperGas wrote: ↑20 Mar 2026, 16:18The SMAH(?) soap packets are now starting to come through as Tracked packets, that probably just leaves the dog/cat flea packets as the only regular packets which aren't Tracked plus the odd 1st and 2nd class packet a customer has been brave enough (or should that be daft enough?) to send non Tracked. Or walk a couple of loops, 2 miles and drive 20 miles dropping 1st class letters and tracked parcels off, before taking a load of T48’s back

They only started going via lockers because DOs kept failing to scan them.TopperGas wrote: ↑20 Mar 2026, 17:33Foreign items via the locker already count as Tracked anyway.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑20 Mar 2026, 16:19Won't be long before anything that's not from abroad or stamped will be Tracked.TopperGas wrote: ↑20 Mar 2026, 16:18The SMAH(?) soap packets are now starting to come through as Tracked packets, that probably just leaves the dog/cat flea packets as the only regular packets which aren't Tracked plus the odd 1st and 2nd class packet a customer has been brave enough (or should that be daft enough?) to send non Tracked. Very little Mailsort these days, just about all DSA. Not all DSA is 2C anymore as some DSA is now 1C, I've seen a couple of firms use the new 1C DSA service.

Re: Everything is Tracked
Yes I think so, items anyone actually wants to receive will be, bank cards, phone SIM cards etc, no idea if they want to or can ditch the shite, d2ds DSA crap etc that's what's separating them from being a 'parcel company' - I know mail is dropping off but d2ds are definitely increasing at my office, I'm wondering if customers are just blasting everyone with their stuff as opposed to targeted mail due to the cost being less ?

Re: Everything is Tracked
Why fork out when they're getting a free ride off the back of shaming the company, rightly, for poor service? Converting everything over to Tracked isn't a magical guarantee of delivery - we've got people on here talking about rolling over their T48s like Christmas never ended.
We've already had SIM cards come through the locker as Tracked. I thought it was a stupid Tesco flyer at first. There's more Tracked coming through the locker now than Specials.ted_e_bear wrote: ↑20 Mar 2026, 20:25es I think so, items anyone actually wants to receive will be, bank cards, phone SIM cards etc

There must be an issue with the DOs either failing to scan them or failing to deliver them on time as Tracked shouldn't be going via the lockers.Mr Rush wrote: ↑20 Mar 2026, 20:48Why fork out when they're getting a free ride off the back of shaming the company, rightly, for poor service? The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.
