Forgive my ignorance but are we getting a payrise this year?

the agreement only covered between 2 - 3%, with a clause to reopen negotiations above 3%.
We'll know what inflation actually was for January on 18th Feb.

If we're lucky it will be exactly 3%.
That would make the average for Jan & Feb 3.2% meaning March would have to come in well below 3% to make the pay rise valid, you have to fear we're going to have another long wait before we get this year's pay rise, not sure if it also means 2027 pay rise would also have to be renegotiated?
The 2027 rise will work on the same basis- average cpi in Jan/Feb/March 2027.

So are we still looking at a 2% pay rise from April?

1st April.
Will the march inflation rate have already been calculated or could the conflict in the Middle East change things?

Now seems little prospects of inflation falling below at average of 3% so further talks will be required, which is really a good move as otherwise we'd be stuck with a pay rise well under inflation.

But why do they have to talk about it? What will RM want for an inflation equalling/or above inflation pay rise when inflation is 3% or more?

Do people think we will be getting a pay rise whilst in dispute?

This has all the hallmarks of them being too busy with the other stuff to action it.
