Roll on xmas eve when all of a sudden everything needs to be clear😃
I wonder if RM will turn the DTS off nationally on the night of the 23rd to make all CSS machines release absolutely everything.

Who actually gives a F?
Exactly.
Our DOM told us today parcels have already peaked (while we're wading through them knee deep  ) so we can clear all the mail by Christmas Eve as cards will drop right off now :left:
They are taking the piss, they can't really believe what they are told to say can they?
Anyway, smile and leave them to clear the frame on Christmas Eve if they want, I'll be off home to the family at knocking off time :wave

Carnage & chaos on a daily basis. My 21st Xmas at RM
& by far the worst!
“Shorts,in this weather?!”

“If they’re bills I don’t want ‘em!”

“What’s she been ordering now?”

I know your just a WUM even so what logic would there be in flooding the DO's with mail when they're only interested in clearing the Tracked by Christmas Eve?

Apparently the machines aren't going to be run Boxing Day night, by Saturday all the DTS stuff will be due for delivery so it'll have to all go out on the night of the 23rd.

The RM2000 frames were designed to hold one day of mail at a ~90% callrate. It's only because callrates are so low now that they can get away with not clearing for a straight week. The bottom half of my frame hasn't been out since the 4th and some slots have become so overloaded I had no choice but to bundle them up and treat them like parcels.

I shove 40 Christmas cards through a customer's door and they come running out as I'm leaving. If they were apoplectic at the abysmal QoS I could understand that, but they hand me a card with money inside and I feel like a f***ing fraud.
Any Questions?
Yeah, how do I get out of this chickenshit outfit?

Whether or not the DOs have the capacity to deliver it is totally irrelevant and not our problem. If any mail is due for delivery or the DTS is turned off (we're not allowed to turn it off witout permission from CPC) it'll be sequenced and sent out to the DOs, it's as simple as that.

presuming they don't just crash sort it and send it unsequenced to DO's

I’m surprised you feel that way; most folk I’ve spoken to about the issues have been very empathetic. Sometimes, it’s important to know that people are grateful for you for doing your best, even if that’s not necessarily as much as you’d want to have done. And certainly sometimes, with the gratitude you receive from management, it’s easy to fall into the false narrative of having done too little, or even nothing at all.

A huge number of mental health issues and resignations amongst the long term staff have been caused by a combination of hard working posties wanting to do a good job, mixed with enforced failure through bad management and greed. So many feel like they are personally letting people down and the ones that do ok are the ones that are able to switch off from it.

Its a good point you make. Delivery posties work very hard. But its never enough for the managers. I'm done with overtime, and late in my career so its water off a ducks back if i get a snidey comment. But it can definitely work on a lot of people who are literally working like dogs and still try to do more. Ironically some fellow posties can be just as bad, though not so much these days as more see the light and futility of chasing their tail.
