Legacy contracts are nowhere near minimum wage? Plus there's a decent pension contributions on top. For somebody nearing retirement they'd do well to find better pay for an unskilled job.Chelseablue wrote: ↑08 Dec 2025, 18:17Near minimum wage ? Plus on the old contracts RM pays well for what the job is and the hours although not as good are still decent.

Agreed and most long term legacy won’t be pressured by managers and know how to play the gameTopperGas wrote: ↑08 Dec 2025, 19:42Legacy contracts are nowhere near minimum wage? Re: Last Christmas
Yep. £15.05 an hour with delivery supplement and that's not taking into account the paid breaks. I also did say old contracts.i know the new contracts are close and I definitely wouldn't do it for that pay rate, jobs too tiring for £13.06.TopperGas wrote: ↑08 Dec 2025, 19:42Legacy contracts are nowhere near minimum wage? Re: Last Christmas
No it's regular rate, my wageslip for 37hrs shows
Basic £526.35 plus
Delivery supplement
£18.39 +
£12.19
Total
£556.93 ÷ 37 = £15.05 per houy
But it's actually more than that as you only need to do approx 34 hours work taking paid breaks into consideration so effectively about £16.38
Obviously when you do overtime the rate is a fair bit less then even less after the first 10 hours if you do more than that.

Re: Last Christmas
The thing to do if you are finding it all too much is just, ''WORK TO YOUR TIME''
It's not that hard. Come in and do whatever RM want you to do, be it prepping Households or Double Prepping another Duty. Prep your own Duty and if you're due to go out the door at 10.00 inform the Manager you haven't got enough time left to complete your Delivery, is there any help for you? WHEN he says NO inform him you'll be finishing on time and will bring anything back that's left!
When he kicks off ask him what HE wants you to do, what does HE want you to prioritise? He'll probably trot out ''Make sure you deliver all Tracked and 1st class''! (We've recently had the 1st class bit added to the Mantra)
You might get away with leaving some low priority stuff in the frame i.e Bulk Catalogue Mailshot. Generally they want you to take EVERYTHING because they haven't got the balls to stand up to their boss and argue your case.
Then it's up to you. If he wants Tracked, I'll deliver Tracked (AND 1st Class) and pull out everthing else as I'm going around. Put it in a box in walk order because you're going to be throwing it off again when you get back.... Very efficient
And don't forget to allow enough time to do that within your Contracted Hours.
WARNING: Be prepared to get some grief from your Manager, and probably a few veiled threats thrown in.
But it is down to you to be more Assertive, and not be treated like a drone. We now have the ''Raise a Concern'' tile on the PDA ... If you're getting discriminated against because you've upset the Manager use it. It does work, as it goes out of the office above his head, and he does get some shite over it!
Don't let Christmas Stress you out people, your Manager doesn't give a Shite, those above him don't give a Shite, they won't be coming into work the Saturday after Christmas. Don't Burn yourself out for these ungrateful, lazy bastards! Pace yourselves and enjoy YOUR Christmas with YOUR Family.

I'm surprised at that Sean. We've had some good results with some ''Concerns'' raised. It does seem that those that involve pre-existing medical problems get the most attention.
Perhaps they're concerned we'll drop dead of exhaustion BEFORE completing our Delivery!
