Dragging people in from surrounding offices and further afield so I've been told
On Mon/Tues staff bought in from as far as ipswich and Felixstowe -
By the time they’d travelled here and allowed for travel back, some spent as little as 40 minutes actually delivering - and that’s doing parcels paired up 2 in a van
You couldn’t fcuking make it up

Ridiculous. There’s so much wastage throughout every single level of the company.

At my last DO there was a whole team of collection staff who couldn’t go anywhere until delivery staff returned with vans. I once asked my boss ‘Couldn’t they do something other than sit there on their phones, you know, like collect trays, put the yorks back, do kill offs, prep D2Ds.’ The manager just shrugged ‘the collections manager doesn’t agree with them doing that, it all comes out of his budget and he’s happy for 30 staff to sit there for an hour or two every single day.’

I believe the term the cool kids use nowadays is ‘make it make sense.’
Did your boss and the collections manager both report to the same manager?
Not sure SP
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

This exact situation exists at every DO I’ve worked in. Absolutely crazy.

And on top of that we’ve just found out one of the managers is a convicted P and was on the list for 10 years
And yesterday he was out knocking on doors !!
Big statement to make any evidence to back it up.
Give me your email and I’ll send you the newspaper article with photo

Layers of mismanagement, farcical wastage, all muddled in ridiculous rules - I had a stupid situation whereby someone emptied the postbox but it wouldn’t scan on their PDA, apparently their PDA was well known for not always scanning (and obviously it was never logged off, just kept being put on charge each night).

I was sent out, in a van, on OT to drive 15 miles in rush hour to purely scan the box - why isn’t there an override option for management ‘can you confirm this box has actually been emptied? Misreporting will result in an investigation being conducted.’ 2 hours OT, 30 mile round trip purely to press a single button on the PDA.

I’m sure everyone has other examples which are probably best saved for a different thread.

ALL PDAs at both MCs and DOs should have a set day where all the PDAs at the office get rebooted.
