We were told by management that today was indeed record breaking for our unit in terms of mail volumes received. Looking at the office at finishing time, I would add that it was also record breaking for the amount of undelivered letters stuffed into frames (multiple days on most) and 2nd class packets/parcels brought back without a delivery attempt. That'll happen when your unit is understaffed to the extent where shared vans are only usually manned by one person and HCT duties only go out on alternate days. No sign of agency help where I work, either.

apparently there was 300 trailers waiting to be processed at NDC t’other day, I’m sure they’ll get round to them eventually !
Think there's about 30 MCs left now so that's potentially 30 trailers for every MC! Probably around 3-4 lorries per DO from the MCs.

I don't think maths is your strong point.

Well seeing as Monday is our shortest working weekday it will be another day out in the van just doing the Tracked, the mail backlog is just building up!

We've had the odd time running batches where the odd walk has gotten 5 trays of sequenced.

Just the 3 panic attacks for me this week after I got home, plus I'm ill with sinusitis so it's been a pretty bad week for me. Always finished at my finish time though after leaving stuff behind.
I feel bad about it, I like a clear frame.

Don't be surprised if a trailer (or two ) is discovered early - mid January in an MC loaded
to the gunwales with parcels /packets , seen it with my own eyes, Lino 's reaction when told
"oops s**t happens " albeit several years ago but nothing seems to happen in good old RM.
No court of enquiry ,no one dragged kicking and screaming to the gallows. Everthing was

This sounds like the workload is getting a bit too much for you. Please speak to a Dr if you haven't already. Put your mental health before RM.
