I had an rtc in a van last week, went back to
Work for a couple of days then off as i
Was in pain in the shoulder and neck with headaches.
Clearly form the accident that wasn’t my fault.
On return today manager says he has put it down as sickness which i have argued that is not the case.

Anyone know how that works ?

Yes you are off sick, however it will be up to your manager to decide whether the absence counts towards the formal process or not.

Off injured due to an accident at work. Is there not a policy where that does not count towards your sickness record. If its down to the manager then its always going to count.

Worry is , on amoxycyline 500 for a week , not touched chest infection at all , now just finished Steroids 8 in morning 5 days of. Worried bout another stage added on and losing money. Near 30 years and sick record is not bad.

That's pretty much how it's now working in ours take 2 days wages so people take longer than they need out of spite.
Guy I work with has been off for 2 months. He had an operation, but has to have another in about 6-8weeks, he could have came back on light duties, but as he will be off again for the third time in a year, he will lose 4 days pay, so it makes financial sense for him to remain off sick on full pay for the duration.
I just was off third time in six months. This time with flu. Came back after three days off. If I had realised I was losing four days pay i'd have stayed off the week. :evil/mad
I mean, came back to help out and get punished for it. :arrrghhh

Live and learn though. :cool

I can't really remember, but was the new sick procedure part of the pay-deal that was voted for by union members recently ?

Bevause of this, i now put aside a small amount of wages every week (maybe a fiver) just to cover any money i lose because of sickness.
