I got taken into a meeting once for putting mail back in the frame when I'd got back. It wasn't much, but was told that by putting it back in the frame it meant that the duty had failed.
Ridiculous rules. No idea if that's still actually the rule or if the manager pulled that rule out of their butt cheeks or what.
It is still a failure. Of course the manager should be there to record it.

You really should know if youve been in the job that long. All offices are different so ask your manager what they want you to do. They tell you. You do it and youre covered.TBH most offices are so short staffed they actually dont care as long as youve done your tracked. And remember, stuff is going to be left under the new way of working so you are just ahead of the curve so dont worry.
