Saturdays are usually shorter days than the rest of the week, so do we get to claim any hours back? It's win-win for RM if they can give posties more Saturdays off and also get posties working more hours during the week as well. Our Saturdays are 30 minutes shorter than a standard Wednesday to Friday, so if we get an extra 6 Saturdays off a year then thats 3 hours worth of extra work given to RM during the year. Might not seem like much but multiplied by an office of 100 workers, then 100 x 3 = 300 hours saved.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

Well, RM definitely aren't usually in the business of giving anything away for free are they?

Yes Perseus, what about postal workers who go to football ⚽️ on Saturday's, for example those with season tickets etc ?

My train gets me to my station at 2:30, then a 10 min walk home, then get changed and then a 15 min walk to the football stadium. That makes it really tight for kick-off time.

It's got to be looked at.
lol this was argued 20 years ago..

7 hours your lucky we got 6 hours delivery plus the IPs and sorting.. 4.15pm finish

Makes no difference to hours unless you go home earlier than your duty time on a Saturday. .

The problem is, it does make a difference to new starts.

There's two types of DSA, a 2 day delivery and a 5 day delivery. It's down to which one the DSA companies use and when it first enters RM's system and passes through either an iLSM or IMP for the first time. The 2 day one will get automatically released on it's second day passing through a CSS, along with any other mail for them DPs.

There'll soon be a next day DSA coming out to throw into the mix, don't know when that starts.

Doesn't work that way, each DSA product will have to be delivered on whatever day it has to be to meet the spec. Whatever is released by the DTS is due for delivery, it doesn't matter if it's a 1C only day. If it doesn't get delivered to spec then the DSA companies are bound to want compensation from RM for failing to meet the spec and if it got bad enough, RM would probably get a bollocking from OFCOM

We've been told that there a NO changes being made to the way the DTS works.

Ultimately if it has been released by the DTS the it's due for delivery.

Now please don’t shout and swear at me please I’m genuinely curious

Doesn’t second class currently get released on Friday nights for delivery on Saturday? You say if it’s released by DTD it’s due for delivery but it won’t be due for delivery on Saturday since there is no second class being delivered - so what gives? Surely if you’re saying whatever is released is due for delivery then they will have to change the Friday night run to exclude 2nd class or am I completely missing something?

Sorry again please don’t swear at me - just looking for a explanation for a dummy of the process from someone who knows
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next
