What a load of shite. The two muppets didn't answer a single question.
Just say "we want a 3 day uso, 60,000 job losses, £650 million to shareholders and the service will still remain crap because we will continue to underfund it and ofcom will do f**k all". End.

What u on about we’ve been doing D2Ds for decades - 20 odd years ago - average 3 sets a week nearly every week!!!!norris9 wrote: ↑08 Feb 2024, 07:37PEOPLE IN THE VIDEO SOUND LIKE OUR MANAGEMENT: "Mail is down".

WE ARE BUSY YOU LIARS!
Mail might be down, but parcels are up. I will also hazard a guess that we did not deliver door2doors in 2004 either, we do now = more work.

Yes, we did D2Ds back in the day. I used to have a 3 bag round which was mainly letters unless we had a bulk posting of sky catalogues and that was an almighty heavy day. However, even though we deliver less letters nationally our duties are now twice as big so we often have at least 14 pouches of mail/packets. Add on the bulk calls and the big parcels that parcel drivers used to do, plus the postboxes that collections staff did and that we are taking photos of nearly every parcel (which have massively increased) and it is small wonder that we rarely get chance to deliver everything now. In 2004 most of us rarely ever had to use the overrunning procedure as there was always time to do everything and yet the company was still profitable.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

Amazon are putting adverts in their Prime video service as well. Seems like they haven’t got enough money. They need all the money.qwerty2 wrote: ↑09 Feb 2024, 21:20Sounds like there’s a backlash for Amazon ring doorbells putting up subscriptionsrubberbond wrote: ↑09 Feb 2024, 20:23Probably but Royal Mail are desperate to beat them to it , or Amazon will.

the hated ring door bells....
i chose not to ring one the other day and got no answer, no cars on driveway, so tried again the next day, car on driveway....chose to knock... woman answers 'do you know we have a doorbell....this is why nobody answered yesterday'.....
well, there's no rule on whether I knock or ring your annoying doorbell. I knocked loudly enough for someone to hear, my love. I have knocked again today and you have heard me this time. You have a wonderful wooden door which is perfect to knock on.
There was probably nobody in, she was probably annoyed it didn't go through to her phone whilst she was out so she could tell me to leave her signed for parcel by her front door in the rain.
They probably get annoyed as they pay a fortune for those doorbells so want them to be used. I don't blame them, but I hate the ruddy things.

They're an invasion of privacy too, as they will secretly record you even if you don't press the bell, so careful what you mutter around them.
