You know those round thing in the bottom of the yorks, what are they called….oh yeah, holes.

Does anyone know what happens when small packets fall through them?

I've seen Yorks arrive at our place with a Costa/Starbucks type cup a perfect fit in those holes.

There'll be an amendment to the video next week when the procurement department have bought a job lot of cups with instructions how to place the shovel underneath the york and use it to lift the cup to enable a 2nd person wearing a hard hat to remove the cup and retrieve said small item.

Just about all duties are parcels/Tracked. Even SD locker staff will do parcels/Tracked for approx half their shift.

They've f****d up with the instructions as loose trays aren't allowed on the ground due to being a trip hazard and there won't be a suitable place to place the shovel when it's not being used

We have been working from these monstrosities for about 6 weeks yet to see a snow shovel anywhere and as for putting packets into a tray pray tell how exactly do you sort them whilst holding a tray. The Velcro has already seized to work on about half of them and the upper third of the front are already starting to crack and break with a pure health and safety risk of cutting yourself on the serrated edge. Not quite sure why the manager in the video is moving work from one of these sleeves to another of these sleeves just shows how little idea upper management have of the job most posties have to do from day to day.

These plastic sleeves are being made in house at the 2 super hubs.

It will save the company £80m per year.

You will see about 60% of yorks will be the new white plastic sleeves across the network by the end of this week, certainly in mail centres.

Now the local DO's have already been on the phone demanding that all yorks sent to them must have bases fitted.

We are awaiting the issue of the slider tool and WTLL brief to the local DO's then we will send them the new white plastic sleeves.

Never again will i have to hear whinging of "IT AINT GOT NO BASE"

You will be issued with the slider tool and sign for the WTLL brief and video and that will be that.

It's a good thing, and speeds up automated tipping and enables less yorks on vehicles due to greater fill levels.

They will rotate with whomever is tipping for them, you will all do 1 hour on the plastic york tipping with the slider tool, then back on the sorting for another hour (repeat for duration of shift)

How many “slider tools”(f*ck me) will an average delivery office get? It certainly won’t be one per delivery. So we are gunna be waiting in line for our go with the shovel or more likely we will just crack on without one, breaking our backs in the process.

With the old cardboard sleeves, the bases can't be used if there's any items in it that weigh more than 2Kg, and with there being a very high chance of a sleeve having at least 1 item that weighs more than 2Kg it's not practical to use the bases (there aren't any bases any more anyway)
