It won't for now....but as you will surely realise, RM play a slowly slowly catchy postie game.
Introduced this year, we won't take notice of this, that or the other - but reports will no doubt be being produced and poured over by the statisticians, giving feedback to up above ready for next year's negotiations....
As the saying goes - there is no smoke without fire - they won't be investing all this money in SISO technology without wanting a payback.
Come on people!
Exactly this.
They will install the machines, say nothing - & let the runners hand themselves over the next 12-18 months

No they won't.
They're not after runners, runners already provide enough data through the existing PDA system if that was their aim.
SISO provides nothing extra and is a red herring.
They're after the guys they believe are not "golden standard".
Performance is the new target for the business.

Il wait till "the gold standard" has been discussed and agreed then il go exactly that speed until then business as usual.
I'm sure I read somewhere Sheffield cdo is to be the first office to get it at the beginning of October with all offices to be done by the end of October. I can't remember where I read it.

What if you're not up to the "golden standard" presumably the bar will be set quite high.
In what way do you mean they're after the ones not meeting Golden Standard? Is it people who are late in, those who leave to go out on delivery later than they should be or those later back off delivery than they should be for the amount of work they have? Or is it for any of these situations plus a myriad of others? Just be interested to know if RM are moving towards a standard of work required per day.

It will be a mix of speed, not door stepping, using neighbours, not being late/absent etc.
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been. My BFF Clash The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
I'm afraid it isn't..
You didn't read the small print.
Scan In/Out data will not be used for the automatic reduction of contractual pay or allowances based on data captured, or to reduce overtime pay where a (verbal) contract has been agreed with the manager prior to commencement.
And.....
It is recognised that in some locations agreed operational arrangements and overtime arrangements/commitments are in place which mean that individuals do not return to the unit after completing their delivery, it is confirmed that individuals can use a combination of the Static PDA and Walk PDA to record start/finish of the duty.
So everything changes and nothing changes...
As you say "Nothing Changes" WG! Looks like a couple of massive loop holes there for the "Overtime Bandits" to continue with their usual Piss Taking Antics, while their colleagues continue to get chased for booking genuine pressure OT.
I can sometimes see why RM tries to change certain practices, and I wonder how some of these idiots would survive in another business.
Like all Wage Slaves, he had two crosses to bear: The people he worked for and the people he worked with! (Stephen Vizinczey.)
Are we to be issued with some kind of fob that we scan with?
As I understand it, it'll scan our ID cards (Thought they read simply as "firstname.lastname" so it wouldn't' be hard to photocopy for shenanigans).
You can skip typing in your name on the PDA using that barcode (Point at ID card and hold scan button). I can imagine it saves people who aren't great at typing fast or have complicated names a little effort.
