Strikes after strikes and sticking to our current contracts when management try to force us to work according to the changes RM want.
We are at war.
If you need money then I suggest you do overtime now to make up for any loss in income from all the striking we are about to do.

As long as the pay increase is a no strings deal then above 2% is an improvement
For the rest of it we fought for 25 yrs for our terms and conditions and iam not giving them up now.

Re: What can we expect realistically
That looks like a sensible package that I could live with WG.
People have been taking the piss out of the sick system for years, it bugs the crap out of the rest of us never mind the Management.
Can't think of any allowances my office has left, used to get difficult recruiting ... drivers ... early start ... all gone.
They're going to want to mess about with the parcels until we show them it's not working .... and then then they'll still insist it IS working.
As for later starts my DO's earmarked for up to two hours later start, which is not going to be popular, it's not just that actual finish time but then you've got to add on the drive home, with the school run, holiday traffic and perhaps the local rush hour!

Can't help but feel the union have s**t out with this 'no strings' stuff. Virtually everybody in this thread, me included, accept change is coming; it's about stopping them pushing through the more extreme changes.

Blimey, you still have 1/4saturdays off!dohnut wrote: ↑11 Aug 2022, 19:08So it's apparent royalmail are.playing hardball, they are not willing to meet us halfway, so realistically what can we expect at the end of this dispute, a win for me personally would be 6%, still have 1/4 Saturdays off, no banking of hours but a later start, I think this is a pipe dream, and it will be more like 4%, later start banking of hours and 1/6 Saturdays plus 1/8 Sundays.

So you think they'll make the final letter time an hr earlier than the current 4pm?Woody Guthrie wrote: ↑11 Aug 2022, 19:44Okay first of all lines in the sand.
No annualised hours, flexi-time and commit to deliver.
There are no versions of this I could sell to the members and to be honest I'm pretty sure they're unworkable. All of them potentially mean you have no control over your working hours and no work/life balance.
Potential compromises.
Changes to sick pay and possibly attendance trigger points, IHR and buyout of some allowances.
Phased implementation of parcel hubs and later starts but based on a latest 1500 final letter delivery with parcels only after that.
Pay.
Minimum 6% no strings with a further 3.5% subject to implementation of change.
No changes to terms for new starts.

Re: What can we expect realistically
The current last letter time is based on delivering everything by then.So you think they'll make the final letter time an hr earlier than the current 4pm?
I would propose that we should aim to complete letter delivery by 3pm.
If members have to work into darkness it should be based around delivery of parcels from a van not walking the streets in the dark.
If a 5pm finish has to happen I believe it would be better managed if you could finish your letter delivery at 3pm and do another 2 hours of parcels.

Agree entirely Woody, nothing worse than than stumbling round trying to deliver mail in the dark. Been there done that don’t like it!

Re: What can we expect realistically
If your office keeps HTC duties after the next round of revisions, how would that work if you were only delivering parcels after 3pm, for instance. (eg, 3-5pm)

Re: What can we expect realistically
I think we're looking at such massive changes that it's pointless trying to think about how they would bolt onto existing practices.
It will require a complete change of the entire delivery process.
I personally doubt that pushing an HCT in the dark would pass any kind of genuine risk assessment.
