simply demanding a pay rise is easy but to get the employer to pay it without unacceptable strings is a totally different proposition.
You would be better directing that at Terry.

He's the one who "demanded" an above inflation, no strings pay deal not us. Perhaps if people like yourself weren't so keen to champion last year's abysmal and quite frankly embarrassing 1% pay rise we wouldn't be sliding rapidly backwards as far as real pay is concerned and desperately needing to at least keep pace with inflation this year?

I also think the word "on time" was used by Terry so bearing in mind they aren't even starting talks until on time is up maybe that's another thing you should be questioning.

As for you bringing up Royal Mail’s fuel costs, join the club, my heart bleeds. Stop making excuses for them.
Martin hang your head in shame fs your becoming an embarassment on here trying to defend terry we all see his embarassing videos ffs. fuel costs im sure will kill lots of older posties but dont think they will rm.

Every 1 per cent RM give us cost £144m a year?.
It's £44m.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

It's £44m.

So a 5 per cent rise would be £220m a year.

Yeah roughly the same as they paid out as a special bonus dividend in November last year....

Or roughly the same as they spent buying back their own shares in December...

Or roughly what they're spending on their new management structure...

Don't buy into the sob stories put about to excuse failure..

100% true
There are simply no excuses - i do not care how much it costs RM...pay up simple as that

This is also an important time for the CWU - many members are simply p*ssed off with Pullinger etc - they better get a result for us who actually made RM's profits !

7% pay increase would cost £294 million

every 1% in pay increase costs about £42 million- so 15% would cost £630 million , 10% would cost £420 million

Dear Super Si

The workforce are the most valuable asset the company has. For last two years most have gone above and beyond and have helped RM's profits surge way beyond what was expected, enabling you to make a bonus dividend payment last year to your beloved shareholders.

Yet you have now chosen to use our pay as a weapon to hit us with! If you pay us anything it will dent the profits.

Nice too know how much respect you have for us, just to let you know that any remaining "trust" in you has gone down the sewer.
Royal Mail
failing the workforce, failing the public and deliberately failing mail on a daily basis for too many years.

Does the guy realise that without us there is no Royal Mail, no profits, no nothing. He’s a disgrace for some of the comments he is coming out with.

I have it on very good authority from several sources that the ten newly appointment RODs (Regional Operating Directors) are already ripping into mail centre managers for poor key performance indicator figures. One in particular in south central was given a dressing down on the floor in front of the workforce.....brutal.

Lifted from elsewhere.
Anyone know if it is true?

New ROD has told DOMS in our area that THIS is how many hours you need to spend next week. When met with the response “This is going to be impossible” ROD said its not impossible and needs to be done.
So it WILL be the same old s**t of DOMS / COMS receiving impossible targets from those above and then putting more on more pressure on OPGs to deliver.

They said it couldnt get any worse, but we will wait and see :cuppa

I'm expecting that the RODs will do the same for MCs and RDCs as well. If they take too many hours out then we might need to switch from walk sequencing to walk sort to free up mech staff for other work areas
