Absolute joke. Think I got 3-4 days training on my first rural. Even then after that it’s hard to remember everywhere until you do it yourself for a few weeks.

Surely this is the work place coach's job to have a map prepared, after all they are paid £35 a week, every week, even if there is no one to train! You need at least ask someone to draw you a map of the obscure delivery points

And what about things like making sure the list of hazards on the walk is updated, checking the Route Planner data (what used to be known as A+) is correct, making sure the list of any door entry codes, list of door entry keys, etc is kept up to date

The role of a workplace coach is to provide coaching not to explain how to do every single duty.
And it is closer to £40.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Too right. About time they got rid of these workplace coaches if they are unable to provide coaching.
The number of times I get asked by posties how to do a certain round, I often stop and ask myself "I'm not a workplace coach, why should I bother?"
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

The last 3 groups of inductees in our depot have been hired just as our two workplace coaches have disappeared to another depot for a month, or just gone on holiday.

If you're asked to train someone on a duty should you get training allowance? Or is that not a thing anymore?
