What happened to the cunningly designed hooks on the frames for us to dangle bags full of them from??

I would need a very big bag to put all the parcels straight into it

The idea may be that you put the packets in one bag for each loop as you sort through them, then pair those bags with a bag of mail for each loop - and then use your lovely lightweight trolley to carry both bags.
If this is the plan, I'm not sure what HCTs will do.
In truth I'm not too convinced that there'll be space to hang six bags on your average frame (or even on a big frame), neither am I convinced that backing a hanging bag is going to be very efficient.

Q - Why aren't failing runs being rotated?
A - We are getting back on track.
Sorry, but that just doesn't address the issues/reasons why failures aren't being rotated - and let's be honest, will continue to be the case going forward.

Packets piled up on top of frames , health n safety issue, packets all across floor/aisle because of shortage of space ,health n safety issue . Lets ignore this .

Here’s wishing the 15129 a speedy recovery whilst we deal with the worst pandemic in a century and that the business does all it can to help those unfortunate to need time off work.
Is that what Simon meant?

Ditching letters, of course. They've floated the idea before of getting rid of frames in favour of total walk sequencing, but we've already got the cheaper reality of just not bothering to prep letters into frames while the trackeds go out. I think the RM2000 frame's days are numbered.CharlesG wrote: ↑18 Jan 2022, 19:42Simon says : ‘So team, both in the data. and when I'm in the delivery offices, and I've been in three again this week, it's clear to me that we need to fundamentally change how we handle parcels, because our process is not optimized, you know, stacking parcels on top of a frame, which is designed for letters. it's not sustainable.’
Not first time Simon has stated this method of sorting parcels is inefficient by putting parcels on top of frames.
1. Its inefficient mainly because parcels have sky rocketed
2. What is the alternative??
The machine stops.

Unless RM are going to bring in new machines that can sequence at least letters and flats together along with possibly D2D, I can see RM going the other way and doing away with sequencing.Wave 2 might as well all be walk sort outside of xmas pressure with the low volumesMr Rush wrote: ↑18 Jan 2022, 22:19Ditching letters, of course. " Fifty percent or half of the officers that did a structural revision cleared.
And those offices that had not completed a revision at all, only twenty five percent of them cleared on christmas eve.
So overall, seventy one percent clear, much better than last year."
I don't understand this bit ! If 50% of post revision offices failed and 75% of pre revision offices failed how does that add up to 71% clear or a 29% fail rate . I must have have misunderstood the statistics........can someone explain ?

I think it can only work if Simon has mis-posted.
if 25% of offices that had NOT seen structural revision CLEARED (which seems the more likely way round), then I think you could have 71% overall clearing.
So say 20/100 offices have been structurally revised. 10 clear.
Of the 80/100 remaining offices, 60 clear.
Total clear 70/100 (so near Simon's 71%). We then presume just under 20% of offices have been structurally revised and just over 80% non structurally revised, so giving us 71% rather than 70%.
He's just muddled his figures (I know, you can't believe that!)
Mind you, that means his own figures show the catastrophe inflicted by the structural revisions!

Simon 'The figures are the figures' Thompson
I just wanted to share something with you.
I was having a look through how we were doing and absence, which was around fifteen thousand of the team.
What we commented the fourth of January has now reduced by several thousand, and then I can see that's definitely going in the right direction.
But what's even better yes, is that our quality service for our customers just keeps getting better and better and better.
Please keep going, you're doing great. we know it's been difficult to deliver a great quality of service with so many of the team absent, but i think it's really turning the corner.
So thank you very much, everyone.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Some of these are due to the limitations of the Route Optimisation on the PDA. When RoN states yor at your destination and the named property is not there or worse your on a main road with no properties, the only option after a quick look round is to record as inaccessible. Theres a lot of poor data. One farm i couldnt find the first time so scanned it as inaccessible as it was dark (around 7pm). Some weeks later the same address came up again for another LAT parcel. Luckily speaking to a resident I found out that its about 2 miles away from where Ron States it is! .... crap data.... crap serviceyellowbelly wrote: ↑18 Jan 2022, 17:50We get parcels that were out for delivery by LAT drivers (not from our office) annotated and scanned as inaccessible.Naughty managers fudging tracked
OPG1
why are office managers, office managers scanning track parcels that can't be delivered as retentions are addressing accessible instead of being honest and scanning them as delivery not attempted, as a workplace coach, it's making me really annoyed as the customers do not get the correct messages about their parcel.
Said parcels then arrive at our office the next day and when we deliver them customers frequently express their frustration
because they were in all day or safe place is available and there was no way the delivery was 'inacessible'.
This does not win customers (sending or receiving) for your LAT capability Simon!
