Don't see the issue myself. RM not liking the fact that they're losing revenue from lost stamp sales? Prove it.
Would the fact that he/she/(enter pronoun) took the photo in the workplace, and presumably within working hours, be grounds for conduct, regardless of the issue of even selling the stamps?
Doubtful from my limited understanding. As long as sensitive data and business practices weren't showing, i'd guess they'd have to prove person wasn't on break.
The photo apparently shows opened mail in the office whether it was taken during break or not - don't forget a ballot was made void
because of the alleged opening of mail in the workplace.

A ballot being void isn't really comparable to be fair, the outcomes alone are very different. The picture doesn't show anything as far as i can tell. But the pic on ebay is the only one i've seen, so i could be wrong.

I'd guess that the photo was taken on a prep frame by the looks of it. Taken in isolation the effort required by IB to identify
whoever it is by one piece of evidence would probably too much effort for them but apparently according to other posts
he and where his office have been identified by amateur sleuths on here, so - selling gifted stamps, opening mail in the workplace
and taking a photo in the workplace......do IB have to prove something beyond reasonable doubt? I wouldn't take the risk put it that way.....

Is that actually a flat out rule? I can imagine taking pics of RM practices and environment isn't allowed, but say taking a pic of a mate in the canteen? Not going to reread my contract as i can't say i'm interested in taking pics, but i am curious.

I must admit I've taken pictures in the office before. A snapshot of my holiday sheet, or some other information. A P739d special that had to be left outwith office hours, and no access to callers office. (What if it went missing? A photo was the only evidence of having brought it back). :nervous It's got me thinking now too...
Maybe this should be a new thread itself.

digging deep into the crevices of my mind, but the security aspect is definitely relative, what if another postie within that office complained they hadn't received their stamps, odds on they would have been mis-delivered but?
not exactly sure if we still abide the osa signed years back but the use of photographic equipment on the shop floor would probably fall into it,
we're all probably over-reacting but these days and the horror stories is it worth it?

I was actively encouraged by my manager to take pictures of the frame they were throwing me on, so I could work out a route for the next day (revision combined 2 routes into one, the folder for one of them was thrown out, regular postie left and nobody knew how to do it)

It has been known for some managers to actively encourage practices that could get you into trouble though. Using an unroadworthy vehicle for example.

I usually keep some myself, and then give the rest to my family.

took me 30 seconds to find his d/o on the opg chart too
hopefully it's not anything worth a conduct, it is pretty trivial to be honest and i'd doubt even the tax man would hound you over a book of 50 stamps sold
OPG Chart? How do you access that? Would be curious at my own place.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Sold mine to the local post office like I do every year. He gave me face value for them which was £42.50.
