Year by year gap between min wage and our hourly rate decreasing remember use to be £4 gap
The days of the 'wage differential' went out in the late 1970's and early 1980's mate, the days of Red Robbo are long gone. It is however seemingly more likely that the minimum wage will catch up with the RM scale in the coming decade or so. The government whacks this up 10% or more at a time usually whereas yours goes up in very low single figures.
if the minimum wage goes up a certain % then it makes sense for our wages to go up the same %. It's happened in other companies i've worked for. So was hopeful it will have a positive impact on our wages going up in April too.
Errrr..... again.....no. A rising tide lifts all boats..... except royal mail.
Which means if the mininum wage rise percentage outstrips Royal Mail pay rise every time, eventually we will be on the minimum wage. Just a thought.
As Boris said a high wage economy the thing is high wages and rampant inflation go hand in hand to the cost of living the only thing is sure the rich will not starve and the poor will eat cake!

Think about it man its not rocket science
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next
When you take into account the reduced amount of Income Tax/NI that somebody on minimum wage will be paying, and certainly if they are entitled to Tax Credits/Universal Credit (which they more than likely will be)... then most people on minimum wage will now have take home pay and disposable income comparable to if not more than a posties wage.
