With regards to pay the 5% is 2.5% last year 2.5% this year and then a further 2% in April 2019
No it's not.
It's 5% backdated to October 2017 and 2% from 2019.
If it were 2.5% from April 2017 and 2.5% from April 2018 then 2% from April 2019 it would actually be worth more. It's just another accounting trick reinforced by some fake "misinformation" by those that like to pull the wool over our eyes.
Just worked it out on basic pay alone and it’s 26p per week less after the 3years.(i.e.having 5% then 2% is worth less than 2.5% ,2.5% and 2%)

Would it?...

2.5% of 12 months pay surely the same 5% if 6 months pay ie ...

2.5% of £20000 = £500
5% of £10000 = £500

Lol...

Gotya...

Is that what they mean by compounded?... never did really get the formula for calculating that but must be mathematically possible to define... ie in a single statement how would you calculate your future wages in 10 years time if it was increased every year by 10% (compounded?) interest ??

FV = PV × (1+r)n

where FV = Future Value
PV = Present Value
r = annual interest rate
n = number of periods

or just use a calculator https://www.thecalculatorsite.com/finan ... ulator.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

In the 2.5% + 2.5% for the 2% increase scenario the base figure for future increases is £10,506.25

For the just 5% the base figure is £10,500.

Doesn't sound much but the £6.25 difference will keep compounding with every pay rise.

Offensive to say the least! Do you know if any of your colleagues you represent, work with or who are reading your posts might have family
members or friends who suffer the same or similar conditions?

Doesn't matter whether CWU 'lost' or 'won', what matters is whether the shop floor will feel like 'winners' or 'losers' in 2 or 3 years time....

aye you are right, that was in very poor taste and I apologise I take it back. on the second part of your reply, I think we will feel like winners in 2 or 3 years time. 35 hour week with possibly another 30 plus quid on our pay.

.............except that once and if we get to an official 35 hour week those five hours of work plus no doubt many more parcels will be there waiting for us to deliver them. Also the SWW is dependant on all the trials being successfully implemented. Some aspects of the trials are not possible to do so that leaves the SWW in doubt beyond the first of the two new hours.

You are wrong. It’s not dependent on the successful implementation of trial we just have to show we have taken part in trials.

We rise up again?
