Please anyone not discussing SPECIFIC branch recommendations please comment on a another thread or start a new one. This thread got a lot hijacked and got very personal and nasty as well.

Some of the regulars went OTT as well. That's why you either got a PM from me or your post was deleted. Regular and prolific posters are valuable as they keep the forums going, but sometimes they drown out opposing viewpoints.

My branch will meet on,of all days april 1st and a decision will be made then.

So what did they decide?

Newcastle Amal recommend.......neither Yes or No.

They said they'd never recommend an agreement where there are losers.

So reading into that it must be a no.

just learned this today. but the rep was asked ' why cant you just advise people to vote no'... to which came the reply 'because its against the branch policy'. anyways, it turns out, that at previous meetings, our branch has agreed that any future agreements must ensure that no members are to be worse off, or disadvantaged than other members. obviously, they feel ( and rightly so) that this deal is in breech of that agreement. and lets face it, this lump of shite, they are calling a deal, is creating winners and losers on a monumental scale.... well done toon lads. hope the rest of the country follows suit.
