Re: Strike Ballot coming up
Definitely state controlled hence the demonisng of certain sections of society including quite often unions. Outrage about Moya and the money for her cosy little pad lasted a few hours. Point in case mate! One of the first places she visited when she arrived in the UK? 10 Downing Street!!! Wonder Why?cloherty1976 wrote:The media are state controlled as well so the union won't be able to get a brilliant message across even though they could try harder. Anybody who doesn't think the media is controlled by the government and media barons who support them is naive. We won't win popularity contests with this strike as the media will portray us as greedy and overpaid. However we know the truth and that is all that matters. We are fighting to protect not just our jobs but a great public service. Been following this theme and there are some right soft soapers coming on here. Show you really care about your job and your customers by doing the right thing when the time comes..[ Murdoch controlled by government I don't think so.]

Popped in to see David for her £250K handout. Heard that she asked for his week end pad somewhere in Buckinghamshire, but he had already leased it out to a few thousand illegals, and there was no more room at the inn.

Striking will only serve to antagonise our masters.
This could lead them to withdraw our excellent terms & conditions they allow us to enjoy.

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

I certainly wouldn't put myself in the "like-minded realist" camp.

“Realism falls short of reality. It shrinks it, attenuates it, falsifies it; it does not take into account our basic truths and our fundamental obsessions: love, death, astonishment. It presents man in a reduced and estranged perspective. Truth is in our dreams, in the imagination.” Eugène Ionesco
Nowhere represents the Theater Of The Absurd better than a good old fashioned Royal Mail farce.

Re: Strike Ballot coming up
Is the government or RM really worried about us going on Strike? Or are they just double-bluffing into making fall into a Trap that will not only harm our Union but all other Unions going forwards. (This is the Tory government after all).
Like I said before they have taken the CWU by surprise and almost now back them into a corner... CWU has been quiet - what are they planning to do to stop Privatisation?
Stopping Privatisation or convincing the Public to reject Privatisation is the only way to protect our conditions of work and the best way for some sort of longer-term job security for the FT and/or Permanent staff.
Lastly, I will definitely vote No for a Xmas strike - hurting ordinary folks around Xmas is unfair and has often been counter-productive.
But if the CWU provides me with a good argument (not done so yet) then I might vote Yes. Either way, it is about the majority - one is either in or out!
