Was this based on 83 items (16.66% of 500) which seems to be figures been used.
If so 20 items per min (ok just under) doesn't sound to bad for 1 lot.
Problem will be if they just times it by 6 for 6 lots or even worse go by withdrawn documents line of thinking and say you get quicker prepping 6, therefore you don't need 6*4mins = 24 or even a little longer to do 6 but rather by some miracle you can do it in 14 mins
This ain't no baseball game, you get only one chance and you blew it.
Lifted from the agreement "Door to Door will become a 52 weeks a year product. Whilst the planned workload will be spread across the 6 days, delivery employees will have the ability to manage the delivery of the items themselves on the proviso that all items are delivered within the week and the delivery specification is not affected." Where in this agreement does it say that we have to only stick to the 1/6th or 20% senario!!! Increase your call rate to 100% and greatly increase your indoor work load each day. Then shove the agreement right down your DOMS throat.

It sounds ok until you start trying to stuff specsaver A4 leaflets into a fully prepped double slotted frame.
I think 100% call rate due to d2d is very unlikely to be agreed and can't envisage much enthusiasm from div or area reps to push for or support people who wish to go that way but you never know

It's a non-starter.
Royal Mail want flexibility in the duty spans for summer lapsing and absorbtion.
You don't get that with a flat 100% call rate.

I don't understand why you think this greatly increases your indoor workload each day.
You could do all your D2D on Monday and increase your indoor workload but then the DOM would shove the agreement down your throat for the rest of the week.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Our DOM was counting letters this week and when everyone was prepped and bagged up at 8:15 , he said this couldnt go on ! Oh the rep was allowed to take his lapsing ,and his packets and his specials
Either you all sort at twice the standard or you are grossly overstaffed.
