I'd like some reassurance from the membership first. I'm not in the pension scheme so I'd be fighting for the rights of my colleagues, but I'd like to be sure that they, the membership have the guts to stick with it for the long haul. In my experience all RM have to do if offer a sweetener of a couple of hundred quid and they'll be back at work with no loss of wages. I wouldn't be in line for any sweetener, but I would still lose wages over it! I still feel let down by the yes vote and if the strikes of last year taught me anything, it's that the membership are quite happy to take unpaid days off work (strike) and you never see them on the picket line, but give them the opportunity to return and a few quid and they're back. I'm afraid I'd have to think very hard before I blindly follow again, BUT if the decision is to strike I'll be first on the picket line.
