It didn't deter me matey I went to the employment tribunal and won, but the arsehole is still in position and merrily bullying anybody and everybody(even though it says in the recent bullshit booklet they sent out ...Our Code:Any employee who is found to have committed an act of discrimination or harassment will be subject to formal action(up to and including dismissal)under the conduct policy the point I was making is they get away with it and get away with it again so long as this `manager` is doing his job `properly` in Royal Mail's eyes...i.e making the office more efficent and on budget(because there are too many pussies who won't say feck all to him and run around like lunatics  )
His own Area Manager was the one who put the idea of making it a B&H cases by making it formal(even though it says in both Royal Mail's and Acas code that you should try to resolve things informally first  .)... I was warned off making a B&H case because they want me out of the place as I stood up to them and my union reps think that they will use the bad faith bolloxs or say I have an axe to grind against said manager/s.
The whole system is f****d and I have no faith in it changing.
Royal Mail managers.....about as popular as a t.urd in a swimming pool!
The DDA/Equality Act demands action,NOT words......adjustments NOT Occupational Health referrals.Case No:2505901/09
Royal Mail is an Equal Opportunities Employer..It discriminates against everybody.

Unless they have evidence to confirm that you have made a trumped up charge against the manager, then they cannot have any case to dismiss you for bad faith. Well done for having the guts to go all the way to tribunal. I know this is becoming more difficult because of the scumbag Tories escalating the cost of doing so.

The problem is that most of the investigating/accused mangers know each other and that causes a conflict of interests. Even fair minded reasonable managers are pressurised.. it needs a system whereby there is INDEPENDANT and FAIR apraisal, 'in bad faith' does occur but not often.

Budf, I agree. I had a reasonable guy did my Appeal who was not from deliveries. I think he did a reasonable job in the circumstances, but I could tell that when it got down to putting his findings in writing his hands were tied and the written word was tempered to the point that the bullying and intimidation side of my argument was I believe purposely not mentioned and a result of unfair treatment with reservations was the outcome.

B&H cases are like accidents in RM.
The pressure to reduce them by any means is enormous.
In the case of an accident, call it an incident and blameworthy, suddenly it's not an accident any more......in the case of B&H,call it a grievance, kick it around for long enough, mention bad faith and it's gone.
It's a pretty disgusting practice and it's been going on for years. :cuppa

Spot on FT I'd love to know the number of genuine people who have suffered ill health and loss their jobs purely because RM is a business that lacks any kind of moral backbone when it comes to the welfare of their staff. A former colleague of mine suffered to the degree that he was off for 5 months with stress, ATOS recommended that he was moved to another office away from the structure that had caused his issues, RM chose to put him straight back to his own unit where the B&H has continued unabated (but very subtle done so that it is only really obvious to the victim).

We currently have a " observer " at our office ( the B&H there is horrendous ) and when he first came he did pretend to care about peoples views BUT now ( 2 months down the road ) he acts just like a manager when ever someone responds to a question from him you either get a tut or a sarcastic laugh then he walks off back to the DOM's office to hide.

The best way to persue a B/H case is to get as much evidence as possible with diaries/witnesses-a damn good paper trail
to give them little or no argument if possible.

But what is excrutiatingly frustrating is that these nasty, vindictive people have no comebacks and are released into another
office to start their nonsense again as mentioned, deemed to have done nothing so serious as accused.

This is what convinces me that Royal Mail's senior management 'not so secretly' condone this type of behaviour. There are a host of managers on quite senior grades who should have been sacked for B&H.

I have written to a Government Minister and a Shadow Minister about the problem and would not have done so if it wasn't a major problem within the business.

They know exactly what is going on for it is them that start the pressurisation onto to managers from the top of the tier to the bottom lino(the buck stops here)
'A company run by accountants'--university nerds who have no idea how companys work.

These managers are self centered evil people with no regard to anything. Except thier fat wallets.
They are a different breed to most of us, unfortunately the most pressurised of them are at the end of the food chain, and that's where we are.

The most we've ever managed was 4 out of 80...on a tuesday...in summer...and i wasn't happy about that. :chuckle
Most weeks during the summer we lapsed 3 walks out of 51, and it was six days a week. :thumbdown

We are at the point now that we are so understaffed we are stuffed on the indoor side meaning no time to prep door to door, always late coming off sorting and double lapsing every day..well that is the idiots who still look for the *ive made 5 minutes*,the ones of us who do the job proper were bringing lapsing/loops back every day untill the penny dropped among the useless prison guards oops sorry managers lol.
