Getting accused of not knocking is like a red rag to a bull . I really have to bite my tongue , take deep breaths and then count to ten , then I explain in a calmly manner that it's harder to right out a card and carry the packet around with you than try and deliver :mad .

I explained this to one women , her reply " well there are three people in the house and no one heard you knock . :mad

When you deliver a packet to an older customer and they ask " what do you think it is " .

I'm scared one day I'll say " it's a rampant rabbit ".

Had a guy chase me with a D2D the other day. It was one of those with a made up address Mr A. N Other etc.... "This isn't my name..." etc. "Read it! It's a made up name and address, everyone in the streets got one!" Numb Nut. :arrrghhh
Recognise the old biddy who says, "I don't know what this parcel is, I'm not expecting anything", I always say I'll take it back if you don't want it. Never taken one back yet! :Very Happy

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Few years ago I was posting mail on a council estate, As i was walking up the drive i noticed the front door or the house was opened and a baby gate fitted across it.
Not thinking anything of it I was about to drop the mail over the gate when i heard a voice inside shout and asked me to wait a moment and they would collect the mail off me.
So I stood there for a second and waited, what I seen next burned it's image into my mind, a frail old woman must be hitting the 80/90 mark walked into view she was only wearing a very short skirt and NOTHING else on top her boobs were lower than her waistline!!!
I passed the mail to her not saying anything, spent the rest of the duty trying my best not to puke my guts :silenced

I'm sure old ladies take an age to come to the door then an age to sign for a parcel, because they want all there neighbours to see there getting something delivered.

A month or so ago I was with my van-partner, and I sorted all my packets on the grass by the pavement.

15 minutes later I get a packet out the bag to deliver and felt something warm and wet on the parcel. Turns out I had sorted the packets amongst a load of dog s**t.

I had to knock on the door and explain 'Be careful when you open the parcel because there's actual dog s**t on it' He was stunned and said 'what' and I told him the full story. All this was much amusement to my van partner :(
