Unfortunately the union need to admit DM26 won't work. The way to deliver an alternate day letter service is to get rid of 1st class post. I think the public would much prefer a reliable service over having a make believe next day letter service.

If you jack the price up too much then it'll be cheaper for companies to use Tracked, then you'll be scanning most letters and flats.

The alternative is to leave 2c mail in the frame for days, even weeks, which seems to be happening given the number of reports of MP's complaining about the service their constituents are (not) receiving?

We had a random audit visit last week and all they checked was for 1c & Tracked not being in the frame, they didn't seem to worry that 2c, including NHS letters, had been there for upto a week.
