3 day week

Post by Gunner70 »

Our office has picked the 9 day fortnight , we have 3 3 day week duties in our office, is there any offices who have this and have any ideas to what they can do going forward , Royal Mail don't seem to have any and leaving it up to us to sort causing quite a bit of stress to the people on it , its not like they have been with us for 5 minutes, there's a few years service between them. Any suggestions please.

We have been told that whatever duty structure your office picks that's it for everyone, no exemptions

I think if you've currently only got one attendance then that is the case however if your office has for example a Wallington section then the people on it can retain that, but I'm happy to be corrected.

We currently have Wallington and rest days, we haven't voted yet but it's either 2 in 5 Wallington or 9 day fortnight. There is no option to keep rest days and whatever is chosen from the 2 options will be it for the whole office

As you can imagine the people currently doing rest days are not happy

What so you're saying your office doesn't have 2 in 5 as an option? I thought that was the RM preferred scenario they wanted to impose on everyone
If it's any use see this from the CWU prior to the vote

If they are getting rid of the part time role, but keeping the job, this could be classed as making the person redundant (or surplus to requirements) not the role, this is illegal. The CWU should be all over this, it is constructive dismissal nothing to do with agreement but employment law

No, the only 2 in 5 option is for Wallington

Thanks for the link but can't see anything there that would help people looking to keep their rest days
