Was the scoping exercise a scam?

Just asking if anyone has been successful in getting a transfer thru the scoping exercise?

I put in for it and was told on Monday (which was apparentley the last day) no one in our office as far as the manager was concerned had put in for it or had been successful. This is not true as 4 people had applied to go to other offices closer to where they live.

I have spoken to the manager at the office I wanted to get transferred to and they have been told that no one applied to go to that particular office even though there's 3 vacancies.

I mean I'd understand if they said you can't go because........ whatever but to say no ones applied or no one wanted to go is just straight up not true.

So what's gone on? Anyone else same experience?

I believe it was a scam. RM have used it to stop all the transfers that would normally happen, holding people back in their lives

I have been offered a transfer via this. I scanned the QR code on the poster picked 3 options and was offered a move. In the end I declined the move as it was less hrs being offered.

I thought the opportunity was supposed to be to enable people to get more hours, sounds like it's the usual crock of s**t from RM

As a guess your manager doesn't want to lose any staff and so is just ignoring the scoping exercise results, I've no idea why it was carried out?

It's a similar to the CWU announcing that all PTer were being upgraded to FT, only to find out it was only applied to PT who'd already been told they'd been upgraded.

As ever with RM if it's not in black and white on your contract it's unlikely to happen

I thought the preference exercise only kicks in when you start the planning for DM26, then if your DO has any scope to uplift your hours or have a surplus then anybody that expressed a wish to either increase their hours or move would be considered. The offers are not compulsory so you would still be able to decline anything that you didn't want.

That's the theory but the OP is suggesting that's not happening at their DO? It all seems a bit strange as surely it's down to the COM's to decide if posties at their DO's are going to be upgraded to FT or considered for a transfer.

I didn't infer it that way, I thought the OP had filled in the preferences and expected to get moved/ uplifted straight away.

Part of the planning for DM26 lists the number of posties that had expressed a preference, I have even seen a list of all the offices in my region and it lists the number of posties at each office that have registered their choices. So the local COM wouldn't be able to arbitrarily ignore it.
