Silently quitting

Has anyone noticed an increase in themselves or other colleagues on delivery silently quitting

With all the low morale and uncertainty

I used to have real pride in the job but have of late started questions more

I’ve gone from completing everyday to leaving 5 plus days Mail in the frame all due to managerial decisions and my office hasn’t even bought in DM26 yet.

I just go in now work my hours take my breaks on time and go clock out right on time.

We have managers saying that they are short-staffed but the work in our office was often completed by posties doing overtime a few months ago. Now that overtime is much more tightly controlled in our office I've noticed that the work just sort of sits there.

I'm not bothered about the overtime but when goodwill has gone it's understandable that most of them tend to work exactly to their contract. I'm not sure if this is good for the business in the long term because QoS suffers and people go on sick or leave the business altogether. I recently came back from a week off and my round looked like it hadn't gone out for a week with D2Ds, trays of mail left under the frame. Overtime was offered, but I'm not interested in clearing someone else's mess.

When I started, if any one item is left in frame, you would be questioned why did you left it in, all fittings has to be cleared, they were strict in the 80s and 90s, the gaffers did the job and knew all the tricks.

Now it's all gone to pot.

And is not having to clear not a benefit for you and everyone else? I’d love management to force everyone nowadays to stay out and clear, just to see the complaints on this platform. The job now benefits the postie. Clear your premium products, do whatever mail you can in between and go home on your finish time. Exactly how it should be in my opinion. Why would anyone want the strict 80/90s back!?

If you don't clear your delivery. Will cause mail and packets to build up... then management will then say its a performance issue.. then maybe threaten you with dismissal..

You can’t be forced to stay out one minute past your finish time no matter what you or management say. Grow a pair and say no. As long as you are completing your tracked/specials etc. the rest can sit

I wouldn’t clock in 30 seconds before my time or stay 30 seconds after it! Unfortunately a large portion of the workforce are in early, working for free for hours each week to clear duties, then they complain when they have more added on

I had one of the new kids shouting at me recently because they reckoned I wasn’t doing enough sorting. Hilarious. They just don’t get it. They won’t join the union, and come in early, run around powered by testosterone and try to shame older people like me - the Quiet Quitters.
It’s their future they are destroying, not mine.

Lots in ours been doing it for years.

Quite a few 'loud' quitters who seem to want everyone to know how little they are now doing. I'm not sure if they are being completely honest or seeking some kind of validation of their efforts.
