2 doing 3, 3 doing 4 is all just numbers without the base data on how many houses on each duty, type of area it covers, plus how long current duty spans are.
I’m in no doubt that there will be offices with duties well under 4 hours where the change will be easy. Granted, people might not like having their duty time increased by an hour or so, but that’s what the longer days in return for more Saturdays gets you. Plus less time indoor needed to sort less mail for that day gets you out onto street with more time to deliver.
Unfortunately for the real world many offices are way over capacity with monster sized duties and packets dumped on by Amazon as they don’t fancy the last mile.
They will look back at this in years to come and say, hmmm, maybe we should have had a revision first…..

Re: DM26 - Is it working?
What is happening with walking HCT duties? are they trying to put them into pods and axe them as HCT rounds?....
Cos you can't make an HCT duty 1 hour longer as the HCT does not have capacity.
So surely non-drivers will have to become the passenger in the van-share part of the pod - right?
HCT duties in our place can be done 30 minutes to 1.5 hours early as it is. Yet you have other driving duties that are too big. Where is the logic? The amount of inefficiency at Royal Mail is unbelievable. Instead of making logical changes to even things out, managers instead just pressurise those on the larger rounds, which leads to stress, RTCs, posties leave, Royal Mail end up with higher costs. It is utter madness.
I'd love to have the role of making our office as efficient as I can and keeping posties happy, on jobs they want to be on and making it work...it would be fairly simple.
but Royal Mail just want inefficient rounds, unhappy posties and toxic culture.

Probably local management just doing as ordered by their manager, they know if they don't they'll just get moved on. I think these days they're just a number to RM, like the rest of us.norris9 wrote: ↑Yesterday, 16:55What is happening with walking HCT duties? are they trying to put them into pods and axe them as HCT rounds?....

You simply have overload bags.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

This is Royal Mail. There is more chance of these duties returning to the office and stand around for 90 minutes until scan out time.
