Has anyone been given FT hours yet from PT?
We all did that scoping exercise ages ago. Not heard a peep. When I'm on holiday or rwo I only get 30 hours! It's crap. When at work we do 37

We had 5 made up to 37hrs a few months back, I believe the maximum you can go to now is 35hrs but someone else may prove me wrong.
RM will only increase your hours if your office requires it but if you feel you a being fobbed off keep hassling your DOM and your rrep

There loads in our office that are looking to decrease their hours to a 3 day week, to be honest if I could afford it I would do the same

About a dozen temporary 37 hour full-time contracts were made up in our office. Some of them have been with the business since last Xmas.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

For a good few offices (including locally here) 37hrs is considered to be full time with anything less being considered to be part time.

Fulltime hours have been 37hrs for years now but you can only be uplifted to 35hrs now

It's quite unfair working the 37 when you're in but on holiday you just get 30. 35 would be ok with me. Heard nothing, though dm26 hasn't been implemented in our office yet

Is that quite a common thing in your place? how many 3 day week workers do you have working there?

We have quite a few not sure on exact numbers and more wanting it

Re: Has anyone been given FT hours yet from PT?
About a year ago we were told by our COM and Rep that "loads" of 30 hour staff would be made up (our DO hadn't made anyone up or hired a full timer since 2013!)
Eventually they made up five people, all of whom had worked for RM for 12 years. The two that do a lot of overtime (one does afternoon collections, the other works in the CSP when she returns from duty) say they're £25-35 a week worse off now

Re: Has anyone been given FT hours yet from PT?
We're 3 weeks into DM26 and as part of that we made 16 people up to full-time. For context were a 50 duty office with roughly 65 staff, 60 of them being full-time now. However our part-time staff, all of which are on the new contracts, were only made up to 34 hours. The thinking was that they can work alongside legacy staff on 37 hours and take their breaks at the same time

Re: Has anyone been given FT hours yet from PT?
I have the same question.
Well, I already know that posties taking Tracked + 1st Class Mail will fail most days.... so how that 'improves quality of service' - I don't know.
As for PT to FT.... just ask your rep to see if you can move up in hours now....if your office is recruiting, they have to put you up in hours if you want an increase.
