Tip to those that are leaving soon.

Post by hewittinspain »

If you are either in the process or thinking of shortly leaving don't think it's a given that whatever hours from lieu days etc will be paid. HR do not hold your holiday info, the managers do and they have to calculate what is owed and send it to HR.
I had 14 hours outstanding from Lieu days and I had a week upcoming in March (although I wasn't expecting that), the manager tried to deny it was their responsibility which meant I'd have ended up with zero on my last wage.
After telling them 3 times they have calculated a final wage of 10 hours so my last wage is £134. Does that sound right? I don't think so but it's better than nothing and ties are now cut.

So please guys, if anyone is leaving this year don't presume it's HR's responsibility, either take it in sick on your notice or watch them calculate it and send it over because if it's wrong I don't think you've a chance of getting it once that People's app shuts you down.

I can't understand why HR can't calculate it themselves and have to operate on info received from the office manager, it's on the app so they can see what anyone is entitled to and how much they've already used so it shouldn't even have to involve the delivery office w****r in charge who it appears will purposely mess it up as a final insult

I've raised a concern with the leavers HR page. It allows you to explain anything to do with wages after leaving. Whether something will be done I don't know but it's technically stealing so hopefully they will look into it.

Leave is only correct on the app of it’s correct on PSP and that has to be maintained by your manager. If the manager hasn’t maintained it correctly it all falls down

Because it's all part of the game, if the manager can save some money when a member of staff leaves then he can use that to cut his wage budget &/or pay somebody else additional overtime.

Yes but surely that's a fundamental part of the managers job they should be instructed to maintain it properly ? Plus also most people with the exception of those that won't use it  or those who simply can't would be aware of what their leave allowance is and would compare that to what it says on the people app
