Re: Denmark today
Denmark’s postal service is sending Royal Mail a chilling message...
Denmark scraps letters: Postal service will stop delivering mail due to fall in demand - with iconic red post boxes removed around the country

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: Denmark today
No chance here. To many angry Daily Mail readers and useless politicians. It would 20 years to set up a review. Look at the mess today.

Re: Denmark today
UK still sends vastly more mail than the Danes have done.
Even if mail does decline massively we'd still deliver parcels. I think I'd rather deliver parcels anyway. Carrying a postal bag around all day isn't good for you.

We all the the top brass will get rid of mail ,there's no £s/profit in it, I'll give it 2 years max.
As for parcels they will grow year on year that's where the business is going .

Re: Denmark today
Letters were 51% of revenue in 2018/19. In 2020 letters were 2:1 more profitable than parcels (being more resource intensive). These numbers can't have shifted that much. They're likely more profitable since letters get delivered at the company's convenience post-pandemic rather than daily per unchanged specification.comeracing wrote: ↑04 Dec 2025, 16:11We all the the top brass will get rid of mail ,there's no £s/profit in it
There's money in letters, it's just that the numbers aren't going up. Talking about parcels all day was fodder for shareholders when the company was publicly traded.
Any Questions?
Yeah, how do I get out of this chickenshit outfit?

Re: Denmark today
When they introduced van share back when you could fit everything in the combos I suggested getting something like a simple L shape plywood frame like a shelf if that makes sense fitted which would go behind the sliding door so you could slide a couple of trolleys in underneath it, obviously no one interested so we were stuck with the issue you described plus you forgot the added bonus of when you accidentally run over some dog s**t

Re: Denmark today
Speaking of suggestions. I see Amazon out delivering tiny packets all the time and the back of their vans have nice bins and partitions to keep the workload organised. We've been told we're a 'parcels company' for about a decade now but there have been no useful developments in handling this volume of packets. That idea that was being trialled last year about sorting packets directly into bags (Format Two Sortation?) - making the back of your van look like 2012 with everything stowed in the bags for each loop hinged entirely on making all the oversized someone else's problem.ted_e_bear wrote: ↑06 Dec 2025, 06:10When they introduced van share back when you could fit everything in the combos I suggested getting something like a simple L shape plywood frame like a shelf if that makes sense fitted which would go behind the sliding door so you could slide a couple of trolleys in underneath it, obviously no one interested so we were stuck with the issue you described plus you forgot the added bonus of when you accidentally run over some dog s**t
