Pilot Offices

Post by geordieboy123 »

Anyone from the pilot offices ? Can you inform us how peak is being dealt with I’m hearing Southend have 40 colleagues gone sick and agency staff together with all available managers being sent there to help out.

Wasn't Southend deep in the s**t a couple of months ago?

Sounds a great success, can't wait for it to be rolled out to the 1000+ DOs :nana

Brilliant minds running RM! They've done what CERN never could - create a black hole on Earth. We'll call it the Southend Suck.
Any Questions?
Yeah, how do I get out of this chickenshit outfit?

I thought that was something you could get in certain dodgy areas of Southend for a small fee?

If so bad here - it’s immoral, wrong and probably illegal seeing as so much is being wilfully delayed by management
We had 6-7 managers today bought in just to help run our 54 DP duties -
Yesterday we had staff shipped in from as far as Felixstowe and ipswich - again just on the Dps

BUT it won’t help - we only have enough PDAs for 60-70% of our staff - and same with vans

I waited 3.5 hrs today for a PDA

Letter duties - I reckon 30-40 duties didn’t go out today - out of approx 130 walk duties in our office

And on top of that we’ve just found out one of the managers is a convicted P and was on the list for 10 years
And yesterday he was out knocking on doors !!

There’s not enough charging points so they expect people to get keys from key room, move a van that’s charged, find a space to park it, move their one in, return keys etc - but won’t allow them any additional time to do it

And all this in a 2-3 acre yard with NO flood lights - just external street lights round the perimeter

Oh yeah - and no one actually in the key room after say 7ish

Big statement to make any evidence to back it up.

Yes exactly this, managers showing their intelligence as usual!! I'm glad it's in other offices. Oldham DO is in an absolute state. So much so, we have got TEN EXTRA SUPER DUPER AGENCY DRIVERS to save the day. (We already have loads of agency).

So a colleague asked the manager 'where are the vans and PDAs, we don't have enough now.' He replied with the classic shoulder shrug.

On average they wait 2/3 hours for a van, that's 20-30 hours absolutely spunked on nothing. Now imagine giving those hours as overtime to the regular staff, who know the routes and know where to leave the parcels....

Ridiculous. There’s so much wastage throughout every single level of the company.

At my last DO there was a whole team of collection staff who couldn’t go anywhere until delivery staff returned with vans. I once asked my boss ‘Couldn’t they do something other than sit there on their phones, you know, like collect trays, put the yorks back, do kill offs, prep D2Ds.’ The manager just shrugged ‘the collections manager doesn’t agree with them doing that, it all comes out of his budget and he’s happy for 30 staff to sit there for an hour or two every single day.’

I believe the term the cool kids use nowadays is ‘make it make sense.’
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

Did your boss and the collections manager both report to the same manager?
