LEGAL CONTRACT – AGENDA FOR GROWTH STABILITY AND LONG TERM SUCCESS NATIONAL AGREEMENT

Please find attached a copy of Appendix A of the National Agreement which is the final version of the Legal Contract between the Royal Mail Group and the CWU.

This document contains the legally binding elements of the main agreement and these have been drawn up as a formal legal contract between the national parties.

The key elements of the contract are the legal protections and the approach to industrial stability.

The legal protections are replicated word for word from Section 3 of the National Agreement. The Industrial Stability Section merges our existing IR Framework Procedure with the new approaches to mediation and this in effect becomes a step by step approach to the new industrial relations process. The remainder of the legal contract covers what are seen as standard parts of any legally binding document. The legal contract should be circulated to our representatives and discussions on this will feature in our briefings with local representatives which commence on the 7th January through to the 14th January.

Finally, we would remind Branches that further communications to members’ home addresses will follow once the local reps briefings have been completed.

If the review of MTSF has been put back until May does that mean those who have accepted VR will have their pensions enhanced as I still have 3 years to do?
