LTB:KEEP THE POST PUBLIC : POLL RESULTS AND MEDIA COVERAGE

Post by POSTMAN »

No. 726/2010
Ref
Date: 24 August 2010

TO ALL BRANCHES

Dear Colleague

KEEP THE POST PUBLIC – POLL RESULTS AND MEDIA COVERAGE

You may have seen and heard the media coverage yesterday and today about the privatisation of postal services.  Most of the publicity has been driven by the presence of Ed Balls and his comments opposing the privatisation of the service.

As you are all aware, Ed Balls is currently assisting with our campaign and there are more events planned over the next few weeks with his presence.   There is no doubt that there is media interest in his presence and Branches should continue to press for local media coverage around those events.

The main element of yesterdays and today’s national news coverage has been based on the results of a public poll carried out jointly by Ed Balls and CWU.  This poll again shows the majority of the public opposing privatisation but crucially shows a majority of both Lib Dem and Conservative voters are opposed.

These figures will form part of our campaign with the coalition government and can obviously be referred to when lobbying conservative and LibDem MP’s.

The poll data and certificate is attached.

Any enquiries regarding this LTB should be sent to mmurray@cwu.org

Yours sincerely

KEVIN SLOCOMBE

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

I am a bit dubious about opening the pdf attachment at the top of this page. Is this the CWU finally telling us the truth about whether we should believe them :chuckle
Maybe they are finally growing a set? :chuckle

Any other ideas about what this pdf file could be about :Very Happy
