THE DEAL FOR MAIL CENTRES

Have just read the new deal and it doesn't contain much for Mail Centres,as expected the delivery boys and girls are,I think the losers here.
I'm not taking anything away from the fact that we will lose an amount of MCs over the yearsbut hopefully this can be dealt with through VRs and EVRs.
Automation will also mean job losses but as above there is a lot of people who want to leave the business and lets hope they can on good terms.
Although I think for the MCs it is not the worst deal I think more could have been done to at least preserve some the delivery peoples hard won benfits,few though they may be.
But the worrying point is Royal Mail are about to come out with their business plan for 2010,it is already in the pipeline,with announcements of massive job cuts and attacks on hours. So althouh we now have this new agreement it will be interesting to see what RM have stored around the corner.
Call me cynical but it mat not bode well.
