Part Absence?

Can anyone confirm if a part absence is still discounted from the sick procedure? I do remember reading it several years ago but, can anyone point me to the doc that mentions this?

Yes it's discounted,but if they get regular they can bust you for it.

Part Day Sick Absences

If an employee arrives at work but after 1 hour or more felt too ill to continue working and so went home this would constitute a part day absence.

There is no blanket requirement for self certificates for part day absences or Doctors/Dentists appointments which cannot be taken outside working hours,although with the latter appointment cards should be shown/made available.

Where managers have reasonable grounds to suspect that abuse by an individual is taking place or the frequency becomes unacceptable then self-certification may be required.The employee concerned will be told in advance that this will be a future requirement and that such absences may count towards triggering stage warnings.

Warnings will not be triggered based on part day absences unless the employee has been asked to certify such absences and informed that they will count in future.

i had to go home ill the other day after approx two and a half hours, is this day definately not counted as an absence?
also what is the standards when you are on a stage 2?
is it 2 absences or 7 days
or
is it 2 absences or 10 days?

As long as you returned the following day it will not be counted.
As long as you are not on trial it's 2 absences or 10 days in any 6 month period within the following 12 months to trigger the next stage.

ive been lookin for an up to date attendance procedure guide line. theres 2 versions comin up on google, one saying 7 days, the other 10!
