Managers strike ballot
Does anyone know what's happening regarding the planned ballot of managers by Unite? It's all gone very quiet at the moment (surprise surprise)!

They accepted an improved offer of 2.2% backdated to July and a £1000 transformation lump sum. First £333 being paid at the end of month with the backdated money. Watch your manager smile when he recevies his payslip at the end of the month. Nothing like threatening to strike to get a better deal.....Oh wait we went out and got a worse deal........

Sorry, but where did you get this information? The strike was over them losing their jobs not wage increase and bonuses.

Like all industrial relations people use different parts of it to hi-light their own agendas. The CMA were initially discussing the annual pay rise (or lack of it) believe it or not managers did not get a rise last year either. When Moya came along with her agenda of slashing jobs at middle management level she was shocked to hear of RMs no compulsory redundancy clause. It was at this point that the CMA tried to get it included as a cast iron guarantee in the latest round of negotiations that no manager would be made redundant. Currently any manager displaced by regional shake ups etc get to keep their job and grade and often get to move paper around until a job becomes available to them. Moya isn't best pleased with this practice and rightly wants to know that when a job is saved the equivalent head is removed also. Suddenly there was talk of srtike ballots etc and low and behold all of sudden an improved pay offer appeared on the table and the CMA recommended its members accept the deal. A 'heartfelt' letter was then sent to all managers informing them of Moya's care for them all and while no one in this climate could 'guarantee' no compulsory redundancies, RM would do there best to relocate managers where humanly possible and stop using temp managers to ensure that redundancy would allways be a last resort. Bung in a £1000 lump sum for all managers on acceptance of the deal and Bob's your Uncle, Fanny's your Aunt half didn't vote and the rest in the majority voted to accept the pay deal. Is this ringing any bells.

That is true, all the managers hate each other in my office, and one of them left because he didn't get along with one of them. Even if some of the management did get made redundant at least they got a pay rise and bonus in the process.
