Our agreement ! union forgot??

hiya boys and girls, been with royal mail now coming up to six year never worked less than 50 hours iam on a 30 hour contract, I only want a 5 hour contract increase and get told theres no hours AVAIBLE, yet our delivery office has around 500 hours booked each month, don't think iam asking a lot from going to 30 to 35 so I can relax a little,
correct me if iam wrong but in the agreement we took out which runs out this year one of the main things in there was....

Hours worked to be reviewed every 6 months.......

HAS OUR UNION LOST ITS BOLLOCKS?? What happened to our hours being reviewed and fair working
REALLY THINK NATIONALLY THE UNION NEED TO SORT THIS OUT

Are you the most senior pt member of staff (or close to top of list in seniority of pt staff) ?

The agreement hasn't be forgotten in some areas where pt bods hours have risen.
Get your rep to get on to your area rep to get it sorted.
London recently got a few made up...

Although tbf it's minimal.

in that case just be careful what you wish for, as when the duties are reviewed and extra hours put in, they should be offered to everyone and the most senior pt who wants them will get them, so if fourth in line you may end up getting your colleagues made up to ft and in turn cut your own ot hours, so just work it out before pushing the rep on it

Unfortunately I believe that whether or not he would get made up or not. The right thing to do is to push for people to be made up. In a possible attempt to protect jobs within Royal Mail

absolutely agree, however that's the reps job to push, if the rep is not doing that pushing the rep is doing a poor job, if by not pushing a specific member is benefitting then I would not expect that member who may lose the most to start the pushing

The CWU is about as much use to it's members, as the shop workers union, USDAW, is to shop workers.
You're only paying subs to keep Dave Ward and Co, In the luxury they've become accustomed to at your expense.
Can anybody remember the last time they attended a union meeting, to be told about improvements to their working conditions?

that is the most sickening piece of advice that i have heard for a while dont do it cause the ones above you will get it first well listen if the 3 above get it whos next he is if he dont push he will stay where he is if this is the negativity in royal mail no wonder the union is always blamed

in this situation it is the union to blame for not chasing it up, why should a member do something that may directly affect his earnings, if it was a rep asking advice the advice would be different but this is a particular person in a particular set of circumstances, is it better to give him advice appropriate to benefit himself or not give him all the relevant information and end up causing him potential financial hardship unnecessarily
